New York Double Rainbow: Brooklyn Gets A Treat Following Hail Storm

It's been just over a year since Yosemite Bear's famous double rainbow video went viral, but that doesn't make it any less awesome when we catch the sight in our own neighborhoods.

Photographer Eric Ray Davidson used his iPhone 4 on Wednesday evening to take this photo of a double rainbow over Brooklyn. He snapped the picture looking east from the 12th story balcony of a building in Williamsburg.

In June, New Yorkers were treated to a double rainbow following spring showers.

The beautiful double rainbow may be a rare sight for Brooklyn, but it's common in the Pacific Northwest. Fir trees and rainbows make "The Emerald City" the perfect nickname for Seattle.

Now that it is raining again, yeah! I was wondering the same thing though, do these things not happen as much in the rest of the country? Maybe we take our beautiful skies here for granted. ; ) Saw a double the other day over St. Francis cathedral.

Funny, you say this. I was shrooming at a Dead show in Santa Fe and a wicked rainbow framed the stage after a rainstorm. They put a pic of it in the Grateful Dead family album, so I got my proof that it really happened.
