Weekend Agenda: Beirgarten, Molly Brown's Birthday, Black Arts

This weekend we have several glasses to raise, Denver: There’s Molly Brown’s birthday, a black arts celebration in City Park, and a German heritage party. Here’s your weekend agenda.

Black Arts Festival: City Park is drawing local and national artists for the 25th Annual Colorado Black Arts Fest. Pull up some curb for Saturday’s Boogaloo Parade, and check out the jazz, blues, reggae, African drumming and poetry happening on various stages. Families can wind their way through sculpture gardens, a marketplace and food court.

Health & Wellness Fair: Pick up your fresh produce (not free), as well as a little how-to knowledge at the Health and Wellness Fair this week at Pearl Street’s Farmers Market (totally free).

German Biergarten Festival: Celebrate German music and dance with the near-obligatory beer at this annual Biergarten Festival at TEV Edelweiss Pavilion. This is a relatively intimate event, so RSVP online.

Donor Dash: Enter the Donor Dash 5k run/walk Sunday morning through Washington Park to celebrate those who have donated, received and are awaiting organ and tissue donations. A kids’ fun run kicks off at 7:45am, and a Diaper Dash for toddlers at 9:15am.

Molly’s Birthday Jubilee: Immerse yourself in the Victorian era with lawn games, activities and treats -- as well as the Titanic Expo -- at the Molly Brown House Museum in honor of Molly’s 144th birthday. Tickets must be purchased beforehand and picked up at will-call.
