Clinton India Visit Will Touch On Counterterrorism And Security Issues

NEW DELHI -- Indian leaders and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will discuss security and counterterrorism efforts when she visits in days, an Indian official said Friday.

Cooperation on the economy, defense, environment, trade and other issues are also expected to be discussed, said Vishnu Prakash, the Indian External Affairs Ministry spokesman.

After Wednesday's Mumbai bombings, Clinton said she would not be deterred from visiting India.

"I believe it is more important than ever that we stand with India, deepen our partnership and reaffirm our commitment to the shared struggle against terrorism," she said.

Clinton is scheduled to arrive in New Delhi on Monday and meet the next day with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, and officials in the government and opposition, Prakash told reporters.

In March, senior Indian and U.S. officials had met and shared existing threat assessments and reviewed ongoing cooperation in combating terror, including intelligence sharing and capacity building, Prakash said.

U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano visited New Delhi in May for talks on counterterrorism, intelligence sharing and cyber security.

Clinton is expected later to visit the southeastern port city of Chennai, home to growing U.S. investments, before attending a regional summit in Indonesia.

At the end of the day everybody, country is for him/her self and does what is in his best interests. So is US and so is Pakistan, India and anybody else for that matter. But within that it does not prevent an American to analyse the situation and act for its best interest as it does not India and any other. It is in this light that I say that recent Mumbai blasts were ISI's work to warn Hillary to be able to get her resume aid to Pak, and to India to not to be too hand in glove with US on the cost of Pakistan. This is so over the top I can't get my head wrapped around it! The US is the largest terrorist country in the world and yet we have representatives telling the leaders of other countries what to do to control/combat terrorism. We have covert ops in more countries than I can name. We are conducting drone attacks illegally in at least 9 countries we have not declared war with. We have "secret" prison camps in Somalia and at sea where torture and renditions are still occurring. We are arming "rebels" in dozens of countries while lying and stating that is not the case. Arrest her for war crimes.Hang Hillary and be done with it. Oh, and her associates in crime as well.

It was human loss, the victims left widowed, orphans, tears,cries and horrible miseries of life. We must Feel the pain of humanity without discrimination. How much innocents lost their lives in routinely occurred attacks in Pakistan in the very consequence of US war on terror, alas there is no even soft word for those victims. Is it that we should learn basic human values, the values of humanity without discrimination, region, Religion, ethnicity, class, race?
