Jon Stewart Mocks President Obama's 'Storm Out' Of Debt Ceiling Meeting (VIDEO)

Jon Stewart

Time is running out for President Obama and Congress to come to an agreement about raising the debt ceiling before August 2. As tense budget talks continue down to the wire, things are getting heated -- specifically at a Wednesday press conference. On Thursday night Jon Stewart was ready to call out Obama's negotiation tactics as well as the media for saying he lost his cool.

Several outlets reported that Obama had "stormed out" of the room at the end of Wednesday's meeting after telling Eric Cantor not to "call his bluff." It sounds dramatic, but the fact that Obama had time to say "See you guys tomorrow" makes Stewart think he wasn't being as tough as it sounds:

"That's not storming out. That's ending a meeting by scheduling the next meeting. And I've gotta say, if that's Obama mad, that's weak."

Check out the rest of the segment below to hear Stewart explain why Obama got his Poker analogy wrong, why Eric Cantor's name makes it hard to sound serious while yelling at him and why Obama should be more like The Hulk.

Jon points out what is clear to anyone paying attention. And shows why the Republican phony "narratives" about the President don't work. He is clearly the most even tempered person in politics. Which is one of my gripes about him. I wish he was a stronger fighter for Democratic principals. But the Republicans will continue to spread their obviously ridiculous talking points. And oddly enough, believe them.  Read More...

That thing about the animal genitals was weird, and I don't really understand where he was going with it.

A rare miss for Jon, I think. "Don't call my bluff" means "don't assume I'm bluffing", not "this is a game I'm playing".

I love how the right can't wait to play the angry black man angle, meanwhile obama is just as guilty of trying to ensure that there is no such story...to the point of continually getting steam rolled by these ja ck as es.

What they both seem to miss is that there a good many of us who would love to see an angry version of Barack come to the meetings. Maybe not every time, but at least enough to shake things up.

Once again he proves to the viewers what many of us already knew when we read those silly headlines. That the media is like a silly child expecting you to get excited over NOTHING.

I do love Jon, don't get me wrong, but really, shouldn't this be about how the media is reporting Obama's walkout? No one SAW it. It's all reported. And what does it mean? The media isn't reporting on the substance of the debate, which to me should be the source of the comedy.

Regardless; the President of the United States decides when to end meetings and leaves the room before all others. This has been standard US protocol for a couple hundred years. Eric C is a drama-queen who should be talking to Rabbi Bachman about his repressed feelings.

Obama leaves a meeting at the scheduled time with the words, "I'll see you tomorrow."

Look out, the angry black man is at it again!

Got to love Faux News and the right.
