Mom Tries To Sell Baby In Taco Bell: Cops

A woman tried to sell her newborn baby in a Taco Bell in Washington to a customer for $500, according to Clark County sheriffs.

The 36-year-old mother allegedly handed her three-day-old son to a woman eating in the Hazel Dell fast-food restaurant and said she could buy the infant, the Columbian reported.

The customer turned down the offer and called 911.

Deputies responding to the call busted Heidi Lynn Knowles in a nearby motel, the Seattle Times reported..

Authorities busted her on outstanding warrants for drug paraphernalia, skipping bail and theft, according to the Columbian, but didn't book her for trying to sell her baby. However, prosecutors may levy those charges too, said TV station KOIN.

The child was reportedly taken into custody by Child Protective Services.
