'The Walking Dead' Season Two Teaser Clip: AMC Reveals Scene Before 'Breaking Bad' (VIDEO)

First Posted: 07/18/11 07:41 AM ET Updated: 09/17/11 06:12 AM ET

"The Walking Dead" is showing its first signs of life once again.

A surprise breakout hit in its first season, AMC debuted a first clip from the show's second go-round in front of their hotly anticipated "Breaking Bad" season premiere on Sunday night. And needless to say, they haven't let up on the creepy brutality one iota.

County Sheriff Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln, is at his survival-at-all-costs best in the clip, putting a couple of zombies in their place with prehistoric tools in a post-apocalyptic world. According to series creator Robert Kirkman, who spoke with Collider in April, there's a lot more where that came from in season two.

"There is all kinds of crazy stuff that is coming up. I'm really excited," he told the website. "I mean, you get 8 guys that like zombies that know they are doing a T.V. show like 'The Walking Dead,' and they know that you can get away with the kind of things that we got away with on the first season. It really becomes just an effort to just find that thing that AMC is going to make us change."

The show returns in October, so enjoy this clip and the likely trickle of teasers and trailers that will come in its wake.

i hope so or this show is DOA - the first season the main character did such moronic things. in these shows it like they exist in a different world where they have never since a zomibie film before! the stars seem too much bizaar compassion about what to do to protect their families - these aren't big choices.

No one with any true foresight thought this was a surprise hit. The audience is there and loyal and if you do zombie correctly you'll get viewers. After TWD and WWZ I think there will be a zombie hiatus of sorts. Hard to top these two platforms when dealing with this subject matter.

Frankenstein, The Mummy, Zombies, The Creature from the Black Lagoon; These "Monsters" are very slow on the draw and couldn't catch a victim even if they had lives depending on it.

Too long in between seasons, but will be watching season two. I've been watching Steven Spielberg's 'Falling Skies.' Great show.

Although I liked the first season...I didn't love it. I wanted to love it. The problem was that so little seemed to ever happen in each episode. I'm not saying they were lacking action, but the story around the action never seemed to get anywhere for me. It often just seemed like action for action's sake. I'm hoping they polish up the scripts a little for the next season. Great acting, though, and great looking production...given the scope they have to reach.

I get you, but shouldn't the first season of any show focus on character development?
Now, if they do big action scenes, we actually care about the people in them.

Well, that's a big part of it. Does the viewer care about the result of some action scene? If you don't care about the character or don't know what they're really fighting about...there's the problem. There's was never a feeling that the action was there to move the story forward...just to break up the dialogue.

Ya see, the zombies are a metaphor for the T-Party fanatics who are trying to take over the USA at any cost. The humans represent sane (relatively so) members of the GOP and the DEM parties. All kidding aside, this is a much better series than Falling Skies.

I'll say right up front that I love this show, and I can't wait for the premiere. Not everyone has to like it as much as I do, and I feel that many people don't like it because it has one element that many zombie movies don't - compassion. These people understand that they're taking out their friends, neighbors, and essentially just other humans that weren't so lucky. There are elements of action, gore, and drama that work together very well, but if you are looking for a shoot-'em-up killfest, look elsewhere.

I agree, this is a cut above the typical "zombie/end of the world as we know it" shows and movies.
