Betty White Turns Down Marine Corps Ball Invitation: Apologizes To Sgt. Ray Lewis, Citing Shooting Schedule

Betty White Turns Down Marine Corps Ball Invite

Betty White, unfortunately, won't be bringing her bright star to the men protecting the stars and stripes.

America's favorite octogenarian funny lady, the 89-year old White was invited to the Marine Corps Ball by Sgt. Ray Lewis in a charming YouTube video that came after his fellow Marines, Sgt. Scott Moore and Corporal Kelsey De Santis asked Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake to the November gala. Unfortunately for Lewis, he may have to go stag -- or at least not with the 89-year old Emmy nominee.

White released a statement through her publicist, saying (via the LA Times):

"I am deeply flattered and truly appreciate the invitation. As everyone knows, I love a man in uniform ... but unfortunately I cannot accept, as I will be taping an episode of 'Hot in Cleveland.' Love, Betty White."

It's a tough blow, but at least Justin and Mila have accepted. After all, they're both really passionate about supporting balls.
