Michele Bachmann Campaign Accused Of Shoving ABC News Reporter Brian Ross

AIKEN, S.C. — ABC News says a reporter trying to question GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann was pushed and shoved by members of her camp after a campaign event in South Carolina.

Network news senior vice president Jeffrey Schneider said reporter Brian Ross was shoved Tuesday as security tried to block him from the Minnesota congresswoman while he asked whether she had to miss votes because of migraines. Schneider said Ross has been a victim of worse violence but added no reporter should be roughed up pursuing a story.

A spokeswoman for Bachmann did not immediately return messages seeking comment.

An online news site claimed Monday that Bachmann was reportedly sidelined by headaches. Bachmann says her symptoms are controlled with medication and have not gotten in the way of her political work.

Why I am not surprised of this thuggery behavior by yet, another tea party candidate. I am still trying to make sense as to how the Rand Paul campaign was able to get away without any sort of criminal citation for pushing a woman to the ground, and then adding insult to injury standing on top of her with her head pinned to the pavement. Sadly, when you watch the clip of that fiasco, what also amazes me is how there actually were police officers standing no less than 3 feet away from the perpetrator. Now, here is the million dollar question: Did Mr. Paul come out and tell his supporters how wrong the campaign worker's behavior was demonstrating his lack of approval? No way!

Then we have the illustrious Paledino from New York who shoved a camera man because the supposedly "lame stream" media asked a question the candidate simply did not like? If this what the tea party means when they say they will take remedies should legal means be exhausted. Did Miss Bachmann come out and speak out agains this abhorent behavior encompassing pushing a nationwide widely respected journalist? Nope! I imagine she would have had the campaign worker shoved a Fox News correspondent. How are we Americans supposed to take this party as being a serious contribution to the current politcal debate?

Bachmann can't engage with the American public.
She has a headache.

I'm getting kinda tired of teabaggers thinking they can rough up reporters and protesters with impunity. Hints to abc: 1. have videographers work in teams of two or three. capture the abuse on video. it is worth going through the assault to get it. 2. shove back; hire a few of you own security operatives. nothing slows one of these goons down like a quick easy broken thumb.and make sure you get it on tape. self defense is legal and video is great evidence. make sure you ask the question again after the goon is down. Follow up with a question about self defense or freedom of the press. 3. Press charges in civil and criminal court.

Having seen Reporters looking for that sound bite I have no pity for them. A good tazer would work wonders.

Am I reading your comment correctly here? Are you advocating politcal candidate's campaigns tazing someone who they do not want to answer? Please tell me I am fully mistaken here. Otherwise, if not, I find your comment inappropriate as it serves to incite violence against professional journalists.

Despite the fact that lots of folks lead productive lives while taking medication for migraines, I draw the line at the presidency. I believe this rules Bachmann out.

We need somebody who can concentrate with laser-like focus at all times. This is the single most stressful job in the world, with stress triggers galore. We can't take the risk that she'll have to be hospitalized again for migraines, or have a monster headache right at the time she needs calm and steely concentration, free of any physical disability however temporary that disability might be.

This is a recurring condition. I'm a woman and I'm not being sexist when I say this woman should not be President. I'd say it about a male migraine-sufferer, too. I, too, suffer from migraines, and it would scare the living daylights out of me to have a migraine-sufferer as president.

I can't say that I did! Did Brian have any further information to add to the story or did Bill O'Reilly attempt to marginalize the journalists accounting of events. Please let me know as I would be very interested, or, if you have a link I would love to see it. Thanks for your input.

Yes, these stats need to be publicized. Bad migraines take you right out. That just isn't acceptable for a President. FnF.

Wartime President Roosevelt wore leg braces and used a wheelchair. President John Kennedy had back pain so bad that he was laid up in bed for days. 'And Bachmann gets a "migraine" once in a while? The liberal press must be desparate if this is all they can come up with to attack Bachmann?

But, but, but what happens when she's drugged out of her mind when she gets that 2AM call? What will happen to the country then?

What happens when she doesn't even hear the phone?
What happens when she's so photosensitive she can't see during a crisis?
What happens to the country when the POTUS is out for the count for a few days recovering?

My, my, my, can we afford to put the country at risk by having someone at the helm who experiences periodic mental incapacitation, now can we?

I agree. People should not attack her. Just look at her words and record and leave it be.

Not even almost presidential material. Not even sure she is statewide material. I hate the piling on.

This women has proven to be someone who speaks first an thinks later. There is no need to invent things about her. She is a walking contradiction and has said some really strange things.

The media should be doing stories on the people who really think she could be the president of the united states. They media should ask them when has the bar been set so low?

But talking about her headaches to me is out of order.
02:57 PM on 07/21/2011
I disagree on one point you made that being she speaks first, but there isn't one scintilla that she thinks later, she just cashes her government welfare checks.
