Georgia Test Cheating Probe Shifts To Another County

ALBANY -- A state investigation into widespread CRCT cheating is shifting from Atlanta to Dougherty County, where the new school superintendent proclaims his staff is innocent and an investigator says some teachers have already confessed.

The system in Dougherty, a mainly agricultural county 170 miles from Atlanta, was second only to Atlanta in the number of schools flagged last year in an analysis of erasures and wrong-to-right answer changes on the 2009 Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests.
