Jessica White Talks Celibacy, Not Wanting To Make The Same Mistakes

Essence.com caught up with Jessica White to talk about her love life.

The swimsuit model recently told Bossip that she's been celibate for about a year, adding, "I'm the type of girl that always had male friends, more male friends than female friends. So just because you see me with the person doesn't mean that I'm kicking it with them, hanging out with them or we're romantically involved in any way, shape or form."

White revealed to Essence, "I made a vow to God last year, after so many letdowns and the relationship with my ex [presumably Sean Penn], and I knew I really didn't want to continue making the same mistakes anymore."

She explained:

Women nowadays, we connect physically too soon without actually getting to know the person. If you don't actually give this person your body and then they let you down, there really isn't a great disappointment; not like it would be if you have already connected physically. I started going on that journey, and I thought to myself, you know what, the next man that I give my body to will be the man that God brought into my life.

I never said that I'm going to wait until marriage. I said it would be a man that I actually know is going to put a ring on my finger.

White also mentioned that she's currently in love with somebody. All in all she seems fairly Zen about her life these days, which is an accomplishment considering the recent drama she's endured: after being arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault on a woman in October, the Sports Illustrated model appeared in court last month where a judge mandated, among other things, anger management classes as punishment.

Christ, women still believe that nonsense? "The next man I give my body to I'll know will put a ring on my finger"? That's absurd. Note to Jessica: it's not the p**** or lack thereof. Withholding will not solve your problem (in fact, it may exacerbate it). You need to address why you keep making poor choices in men, whether you sleep with them or not.

She and singer Jill Scott are on the same wavelength in their public statements of late. I'm so glad that more young women are getting it. There is a myth is that casual intimacies don't cost anything. They add up, and the figure on the bottom line can be astounding.

Unless a relationship is sound, committed, and on strong footing, keep your cookies to yourself.

Problem with the Left, and yes I considered to be a part of them; is that we are no Worse at times than those on the Hard Right. Anything that goes against our believe system or better yet "believe interests" ; we vilify them. Now im not saying if this young Model is sincere, maybe Yes, maybe No. Time and tabloids will tell that. Yet attacks on the Faith is unneeded. Remember it is by that same Faith and Conviction of that God and Christ, many , and yes it is many of us on the Left vote and support movements/causes that some of you who criticize God/Religion hold so dear.
