James Kneipp was in the right place at the right time for one lucky mom.

Kneipp, a police officer, was driving by a Newark, New Jersey McDonald's when a patron got his attention and said there was a woman going into labor, cops told the NY Daily News.

"I thought it was being held up," Kneipp said, according to NBC New York. "Then when they got to my vehicle, they yelled out, 'There's a woman inside who just went into labor!'"

Kneipp sprung into action and successfully delivered the baby boy.

"I found the lady on the floor of the bathroom and did what I was taught to do in the police academy," Kneipp told West Ward Patch. "I saw the baby’s head and simply maneuvered the child’s body to a position where the mother was able to easily deliver.”

The mother and her son were taken to Beth Israel Hospital where they are "doing well," Patch reports.

Wanna find a cop?

McDonald's, Burger King and Dunkin Donuts are always a pretty sure bet...

Pretty sure the article says that he was driving by when someone came out to get his attention. Good try, though.

Newark, New Jersey -- where not too much postiive happens when the police have to intervene. It's nice to read something that brings a smile to one's face out of a Newark incident!
