LeBron James Not Going Overseas: Heat Star Reportedly Not Considering Playing Elsewhere

One NBA Star Isn't Considering Going Overseas

There is one NBA star apparently not considering going overseas due to the lockout.

ESPN's Chris Broussard reported on Thursday that, according to sources, Miami Heat star LeBron James is not looking to play overseas if the upcoming NBA season is canceled as a result of the lockout.

Ben Golliver from CBS Sports doesn't appear to be surprised by the report, noting the injury risk and explaining and he is already making plenty of money off endorsements (roughly $30 million a year). So it's doubtful that a club overseas would be able to pay him enough to make playing there worthwhile.

While James has indicated that he's satisfied with staying put, several other NBA stars have expressed interest in playing in Europe—with Nets star point guard Deron Williams even already signing a contract to play with Turkish club Besiktas.

Other notable stars who have talked about playing in Europe include Dwight Howard, Dwyane Wade and most recently, Laker's star Kobe Bryant.

If the NBA season is in fact canceled and all of these stars go overseas, it wouldn't be a surprise if speculation arose about James, who was considered a top college football recruit while in high school, possibly making a return to the gridiron.

...The Browns could use a tight end.
