Amy Winehouse Songs, Last Public Appearance: Music Videos Of Late Singer's Top Performances (VIDEO)

Winehouse

First Posted: 07/23/11 02:17 PM ET Updated: 09/22/11 06:12 AM ET

Having passed away on Saturday, much of the focus at the moment is on her tragic struggle with drugs and addiction. While, obviously, it's worthy of much attention, Winehouse became famous first for her voice, that classic 60s girl group style and sultry hit songs.

Here's a look at some of her top songs and music videos; suggest your favorites and we'll add to the list. Included is her final live appearance, with goddaughter Dionne Bromfield, at Wednesday's iTunes Festival, which featured her swaying to the voice she helped introduce to the world.

True fans should see this...There was so much more to this young girl than people are saying...
There is a kindness...Some people get on here and only focus on her addiction but people should remember that she was a gifted artist, a daughter, a friend and a human being...
People should remember that this could be your child someday and show some respect.
Stop saying bad things and focus on the good... Nobody had a right to judge anyone so if you cannot say good things then shut up...

I'm watching these videos of Amy & I see such a drastic change in her..from this healthy, vibrant young woman to sickly thin, sunken soul..but still exploding with talent, with genius...so sad that she got lost..really wish she could've found her way back..

Exceptional talent with an unfortunate penchant for destructive addictions. However, Yahoo featured a lengthy story on her goddaughter, including several videos of her songs and performances. Dionne Bromfield is the definitely the real deal, with a power and soul to her voice that will definitely find success and is reminiscent of Amy's music. Her debut album already dropped in the UK, here's hoping it finds its way to American shores.

May she finally R.I.P. She seemed like a tortured soul.

It is really sad and unfortunate what happen to this woman's life. I remember reading about her addiction a few years ago. She was making weekly headlines with her boyfriend at the time, who was also addict and a musician too. I thought she was so disgusting to look at and felt sadden by the thought of someone surrounded by so many people benefiting from her self-destruction. This is the first time I have actually heard her music. She was not only talented, but a pretty nice looking girl. This only makes this news more tragic.

She seems more together here than she did in Belgrade. Condolences to her family, friends, band, and fans.

Not to add to the speculation, but the first thing I thought in this video was that she looks like she is on ecstasy. The movements, the rapid chewing of gum, her eyes keep going up to the ceiling. It was the first thing that came to mind... I've been around that scene and there are some distinct behaviors that you spot.

I wouldn't say that qualifies for the headline her "last performance." She didn't do anything but dance around like a loaded dope fiend. Just sayin.

They may have changed it, but the headline says "public appearance," not "performance."

I like Amy Winehouse's music but every time I've watched her perform, she's also looked more bored, nervous, or strung out than to seem as if she was actually enjoying it. It's almost like she can't wait until she's done with the concert so she can go and get high again. This is usually the tip off to deep addiction. That the things that would bring most people in that position great joy and happiness are trumped by a need for the next hit (and I don't mean hit single).

I've watched addicted friends of mine forsake great relationships, good jobs, personal property (included beloved items like their favorite music or cars) and just about anything else that could bring them joy in life for their next score. It's as if anything that could bring them pride and dignity is trumped by the next high.

Amy's talents were recognized early and she was set on a path, through musical lessons and performing art schools, to be a talented singer. But singing never seemed to be enough for her. Many in the same position would be over the moon to be performing for a living and for some artists, performing is the only time when they appear comfortable at all. Amy was most comfortable not with her talents but with her drugs and drink. And, in the end, too many will now remember more for those addictions than that talent.

For all my friends who love Amy's music and who are as saddened by the tragedy of her death, some great YouTubes of her songs, including the last tragic concert in Europe and her visit to her god daughters performance in June.

I have an opinion and I'm not afraid to state it!

It's sad when people joke about the lyrics to "Rehab" in the context of her death. While it's a spot-on and appropriate talking point to raise, the insensitive rhetoric is unnecessary.

Imagine struggling with drugs and then being pushed to the top singing a song in which you reject rehabilitation? How awkward would it be to sing that song if you were genuinely trying to quit, and your career has its cornerstone on what would make you the butt of a joke if you cleaned up your life? How passionately could you sing that song on stage if you had quit?

Certainly she made her own choices in life, and it isn't clear yet that her death was due to drugs, but it would seem that it probably wasn't entirely unrelated either. May she rest in peace, and her family be treated with respect in this very sad and difficult time. No matter the cause, to die so young is a terrible tragedy.
