Amy Winehouse Funeral Held; Boyfriend Reg Traviss Speaks Out

Amy Winehouse, found dead in her London home on Saturday, was laid to rest on Tuesday in London, in a private funeral that included family and friends. Mark Ronson and Kelly Osbourne were amongst her celebrity friends at the somber affair.

Sky News reports that Winehouse's ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, was not allowed out of prison for the event; he is currently serving 32 months for violent crimes.

A witness told the British news service that Winehouse's dad, Mitch, "told some great stories from childhood about how headstrong she was, and clearly the family and friends recognized the stories and laughed along. He stressed so many times she was happier now than she had ever been and he spoke about her boyfriend and paid tribute to a lot of people in her life."

Winehouse's most recent boyfriend, Reg Traviss, spoke to the UK's Sun about his devastating loss, saying that Winehouse had been exercising and in good spirits before she passed.

"I can't describe what I am going through and I want to thank so much all of the people who have paid their respects and who are mourning the loss of Amy, such a beautiful, brilliant person and my dear love," he said. "I have lost my darling who I loved very much."

Autopsy results proved inconclusive on Monday, meaning it will take 2-4 weeks for toxicology tests to provide a cause of death.

UPDATE: Winehouse's body was cremated on Tuesday.

I could have sworn that 2 or 3 days ago I read a (British) tabloid story - linked on HuffPo - in which her ex-husband claimed Amy died in his arms. Now I read he's incarcerated? Never mind.

Really tired of people throwing around the word genius wrt Winehouse. Great voice and lyrics, but in the end, just a common druggie and drunk.

Yes, let's encourage the parents to be ashamed of themselves so that we can have even more lives wasted. What's done is done. I've known many people who have gotten into drugs and they had great parents. Drugs are very powerful things and all it takes is one bad decision to start your life rolling in the wrong direction. It's easy to blame the parents. Amy was allegedly Bipolar, which is very difficult to live with and self medication is not at all uncommon.

Death is the enemy, not our friend. (1 Cor 15:26) It will be done away with soon and our loved ones will be given an opportunity for a resurrection ( a standing up ) by God and Christ Jesus. Everyone who has died is asleep and not conscious of anything. (Ecc 9:5) The reason Christ died is to undo what our orginal parents, Adam and Eve heaped upon us...sin and death. (Gen 3: 1-19) We were not created to die at all, but created on this beautiful planet to inherit it forever, youthful, free from crime, famine, disease, poverty, aging etc, and soon these horrible things will be done away with. I have been reading HuffPo for years, and your post would have to make the top 10 all time stupidest comments...ever, and considering the many honorable mentions that exist that is some feat. British Parliament member Keith Vaz will help the Winehouse family set up the foundation.
