Anthony Silva, 25, a Fort Carson U.S. Army Sgt., was shot to death early Saturday morning in Denver while walking his dog near the motel he was staying, according to Fox31.

The incident occurred near a Motel 6 along the 3800 block of Paris Street, where the soon-to-be discharged Silva was staying briefly, according to 7News. 9News reports that Silva was planning on traveling back to his home in Illinois but was delayed in Denver because he was having trouble flying his dog and cat out of Denver International Airport.
