Subway Hijacking: Man Armed With Screwdriver Attempts To Take Over New York City Train (VIDEO)

WATCH: Man Attemps To Hijack Train With Screwdriver

A man armed with a screwdriver is suspected of attempting on Friday to take over the 5 train after he climbed through an open window and tried to stab the conductor, the New York Daily News reports.

The Daily News has obtained an exclusive video (available below) that shows the conductor and passengers screaming and struggling in an attempt to get the suspect to give up the screwdriver and get out of the cab.

This is the latest in a string of high profile violent events on the New York City subway this summer that have been been caught on video. Last week, as two women on the F train were fighting, a stroller (yes, with a baby on board) belonging to one of the women rolled out of the open subway doors.

And in June, a bystander on the platform at the East 53rd Street and Lexington Avenue subway stop witnessed a brawl.
