7 More Ben Affleck Movie Quotes The GOP Can Use (PICTURES)

It looks like the debt ceiling negotiations in Washington have become officially ridiculous.

During a conference on Tuesday, House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) showed a scene from Ben Affleck's movie "The Town" as a way to motivate fellow Republicans to back House Speaker Boehner's debt ceiling plan. Yeah, "The Town." The one about a bank robbery.

Even Affleck thought the choice was bizarre (and suggested they look at "The Company Men" instead). Our own Jason Linkins points out that the GOP could have chosen a lot worse. But we think they were on the right track by using a line from an Affleck movie as their debt-slashing credo -- they might have just chosen the wrong one.

Check out these seven Ben Affleck movie quotes we think the GOP could draw inspiration from (conveniently presented by the party's star players) below. Vote for your favorite!

Funny, the Republicans accuse Democrats of being "in love" with Hollywood, Celebrity, Intellectualism: totem poles of achievements in the Arts and Creative endeavors, which require more Left Brain/Right Brain cohesion, and therefore, are essentially Liberal-- yet Republicans are the ones who confuse reality, and never seem to get subtext, so they use the wrong allusions in movies EVERY time...

The Dogma and Boiler Room quotes are dead on.

Years from now, people will read about this in history textbooks and call this the WTF era of American politics.

The GOP are showing their pathetic, raggedy-ol-man edges. Time for another term of Obama and then an Independent-Party president!

Maybe the republicans can say what the Captain and crew said during the capsizing of the titanic. It was something along the lines of "Oops!"

Interesting link, but considering that you would have to avoid concerts or other events with more than 2000 people and the list of retailers included almost every one, this could be a challenge.
A couple of ones on the retailer list I would question - Albertsons bought Jewel which IS a union shop; an individual Ace Hardware can be privately owned. Would that make a difference?

"Your hard on for smite." perfect description for the TGOP. Anything the dems agree to suddenly becomes bad even though it's something we just proposed five minutes ago.
