Sounds like a restaurant guide, heavy on Tibetan and Japanese flavor with some molecular gastronomy thrown in.

Ugh! Quit with the bidheadedness. Who care what type of Buddhism each of these people follow their tweets are NOT PROSELTYIZING just messages of peace, and this world surely needs more of that! (See today latest videos of Assad atrocities to convince yourself.)

As a confirmed atheist, I find all this empty verbage rather annoying but I can't stop myself asking why a tricycle magazine relates to buddhism. Did Buddha ride a tricycle?

Yes.

Are'nt we showing here how silly we are to keep to our particular brand of Buddhism as being perfect for everyone. Impossible. We are just demonstrating our limitation and pigheadedness.
The Buud would be laughing at us.

Follow 12 buddhists? Thanks- just following one Harvey Mackay is enough for me! "What is sound of one hand clapping?" It's the same sound the tree makes when it falls with no one around.

For some reason I wasn't able to post this reply to someone who claims that eating wearing and using other animals is compatible with Buddha Dharma and therefore it is not violence. So I will post it here instead.

Buddhism advocates nonviolence, yet many Buddhists continue to eat, wear and use other animals. It's beyond me how many Buddhists continue to justify this obvious violence. Torturing and murdering 56 billion other animals for our pleasure each year is morally unjustifiable. If Buddhists want to see the violence we participate in each year when we eat, wear and use other animals, just watch this free online documentary. http://www.earthlings.com

The only reason we don't understand that animal use is violence is because we mistakenly believe that other animals are lesser. That's is because we have been indoctrinated to believe this. It's speciesism. Sentience is all that matters as to whether other animals belong to the moral community. Speciesism cause violence. If we truly believe in nonviolence, then we need to incorporate nonviolence into every aspect of our lives and that means we need to stop eating, wearing and using other animals. It's very simple. To deny that using animals is violence and deny that it is not problematic is just deluding ourselves. We cannot justify continuing this violence. We do not need animal products to be healthy. It's killing us and the environment.

Go vegan. It's easy. http://www.veganpamphlet.com

The Buddha never said not to eat animals, but to have compassion toward such animals and to honor their sacrifice by being mindful of it.

Maybe if you consider the overall message of the Buddha's teachings, you would understand that his teachings are undeniably ALL about nonharm and nonviolence. The Dharma is definitely about not killing. We cannot eat, wear and use other animals, and claim we are not participating in violence. We just get someone else to do our dirty work. Watch this online video http://www.earthlings.com

Consider reading the Lankavatara sutra or the Surangama Sutra.

Nonhuman animals are sentient beings. They do not make a willing "sacrifice" for our palate pleasure. We do not need to eat animal products for our health. A plant based diet is not only healthy, it's delicious. The first step to nonviolence is to stop participating in violence. Ending our participation in violence is Dharma. I see you do not apply your logic to all living things , only animals .
"It's speciesism." Then your logic is 'kingdomsism' ?

As a supremely enlightened buddha, allow me to assure you that using Twitter will NOT help you to attain anuttara-samyak-sambodhi. Go meditate.

Thich Nhat Hanh is vegan. He understands that eating, wearing and using animals is violence. He is a great example of the Dharma.
