Carlos Beltran To Be Traded To San Francisco Giants From New York Mets

Giants To Gain All-Star Slugger

The Mets and the Giants are currently finishing details on a trade that will bring New York's outfielder and slugger Carlos Beltran to San Francisco.

The teams met Wednesday morning to discuss a possible trade, and at 10:30 a.m., prominent sports writer Jon Heyman tweeted that Beltrán would indeed be joining the Giants. At noon, an insider confirmed the trade in a report to The New York Times.

The highly anticipated trade comes in the wake of a serious financial crisis for the Mets due in part to the 2009 ponzi scheme orchestrated by Bernie Madoff, who had a major role in the team’s finances. Fortunately for San Francisco, Beltran’s addition could seriously heat up the Giants’ lukewarm offense.

While the Giants insist that nothing is official, the media relations department did take an email address from The Huffington Post for a press release to be sent out soon. Outlook good.
