is a 1,081-foot ship that boasts Norwegian Cruise Line's "Freestyle" cruise experience. It can accommodate 4,100 passengers with a crew of 1,753. The ship cruises at a speed of 22 knots. The Norwegian Epic is known for being the third-largest cruise ship in the world.
Special Features
The Norwegian Epic offers an
, with artists like the Blue Man Group and popular shows such as the Cirque Dreams & Dinner. Young cruisers can also enjoy the Epic's Aqua Park, which includes the only tube slide at sea, as well as the Entourage Teen Center and the Recess Kid's Area.
Accommodations
The ship offers inside
that can house up to four guests, ocean-view rooms, staterooms with balconies and a variety of mini suite, suite and penthouse options. Rooms designed with families in mind are available in each of the categories. Inside staterooms are 143 square feet; balcony rooms are 128 square feet; and suites range from 322 square feet to the two-bedroom Family Villas at 852 square feet. This ship also offers a 100-square-foot funky studio room for two passengers, and a special Spa Suite with an in-suite hot tub.
Cost
Cruise rates range from a three-day cruise from Barcelona to Rome at $449 per person for an inside stateroom, to the Nickelodeon All Access Cruise at $3,749 per person for a suite. Children under 2 receive a reduced fare. Certain itineraries offer discounts on the third and fourth guests in the same stateroom. Infants under 6 months are not eligible for travel on Norwegian Cruise Line ships. Check the website for last-minute and online deals -- the website also has a "best price guaranteed" policy.

Dining Experience
The Norwegian Epic has
restaurants included in the cruise price and others that are an additional cost. The two main dining rooms, the grill, the garden cafe and the pub are complimentary options for guests. Restaurants that are available for an extra charge include sushi, French, Italian, steakhouse and Asian culinary options. Room service is complimentary from 5 a.m. to midnight. (There is a delivery charge for room service from midnight to 5 a.m.)
