A Sneak Peek Of ABC's New Food Talk Show, 'The Chew' (VIDEO)

On September 26, ABC will debut the new food talk show, The Chew. Hosts include former Top Chef contestant Carla Hall, restaurateur Mario Batali, "What Not to Wear" host Clinton Kelly, Iron Chef Michael Symon and nutrition expert Daphne Oz. Think The View, but with food content.

Watch the trailer below to learn more what the show has in store. So far, all the hosts seem to be getting along just swimmingly.

I'm appalled at the ABC's cancellations of All My Children and One Life to Live for this hackneyed tripe. I'll follow All My Children and One Life to Live where ever they end up. They'll be continuing online, and hopefully on cable. Soap fans, please participate in the campaign for a new cable soap network that will air our soaps once SoapNET is gone. I won't be watching the replacement shows. Since the news of All My Children and One Life to Live's cancellations, I dropped watching ABC all together, aside from the three soap operas. I thought it would be difficult, but it actually wasn't hard at all.

Soaps are something special. I look for good storytelling in my TV shows, and the replacement shows won't provide that. I like cooking, but I've never learned anything from a food show. They're frankly mindless. If you miss an episode of a food show, there's no loss or feeling of "what did I miss?" If I want a recipe, then I look them up online, or in a recipe books--I don't look for recipes on TV. I look to TV for entertainment, and soaps provide entertainment. It's a shame that ABC doesn't realize that they're losing a loyal audience that they will never gain back.

I've seen most of "the chew" hosts on other shows and while they may be likable, the promos for "the chew" seem so fake. I can't help but feel like I'm being conned into liking something. I don't know, maybe its just me?

What I don't get is why they had to cancel All My Children to put this on the air when they had Oprah's old time slot? I won't watch simply because they destroyed a valued program that had so many viewers. There are plenty of good talk shows around food on cooking.com and food network that we don't need this one on ABC.

I know exactly who Hall, Symon, and Batali are, and find them likeable - the further they are from anything like Food Network, the more likeable.

But are there that many American adults at home watching TV during the day, and are they that hungry for even more food-related TV?
