Kindle's are great, especially for authors making their work available at a very nice price.

My novel, coming out this fall, will start out at 99 cents on the Kindle. It's great that Kindle is being made available everywhere. Get kids reading.

(Just not my book. It's not for kids.)

I know the basis of the decision is a total cash-grab, but I still think it's a great idea. It will be nice to see an e-reader competing with Nintendo and Xbox for kids' attention, and occasionally winning.

I know I would have LOVED a kindle when I was a kid. I remember hauling arm-fulls of books along on road trips. A loaded kindle would have been great and saved me a lot of schlepping.

I think its a great idea. Don't know how many will be sold, but any way to get children into reading is a great idea.

I agree. The middle school age kids seem to love the kindle. Parents say they can keep track of what the kids are reading, even share books. The kids seem to love the novelty.

My 3 year old granddaughter loves books and is fascinated by my kindle. I have several children's stories on it to read to her. (all free lol)

I absolutely agree. We have to use all sorts of new technologies to keep kids reading books. I believe schools have to use e-readers more and more instead of paper books.
