Timely Tweets are coming to a Twitter timeline near you, Twitter announced today.

The company described Timely Tweets as "a way to ensure that the most important Tweets from the organizations you follow reach you directly, by placing them at or near the top of your timeline." It says the Timely Tweets are a version of Promoted Tweets.

Launch partners for Timely Tweets include Best Western, Dell, Gatorade, Groupon, HBO, JetBlue, LivingSocial, Microsoft Xbox, Red Bull, Sephora, Starbucks, Summit Entertainment’s “50/50”, TNT and Virgin America.

How did Twitter users react to the announcement? Many of the early reactions have not been positive. Take a look at some of the reactions below and let us know what you think in the comments.
