Cable Guy Augustin Arreguin Saves San Antonio Boy From Drowning

Cable Guy Saves Drowning Boy

A 7-year-old boy is safe and sound thanks to the quick thinking of a cable repair technician.

Augustin Arreguin, an installer and repairman for Time Warner Cable, was about to move onto his next job on Tuesday when he heard screams coming from the pool area at the Winding Creek Apartment Homes in San Antonio, Texas, KENS-5 reports.

Arreguin said witnesses saw the boy laying face down in the pool, but thought that he was only playing. By the time the cable man came running and jumped the pool gate, the boy was out of the water but not breathing.

"His face was all blue. It was pretty bad," Arreguin, a foster parent, told the news station. "All I could picture was my own son -- he's 6 and almost the same size -- and that this was the worst thing that could happen."

Arreguin, 30, gave the boy CPR for what "felt like forever," and had him breathing again by the time paramedics arrived.

The boy is expected to make a full recovery.
