Kate Middleton Repeats DVF Dress For Zara Phillips' Pre-Wedding Party (PHOTOS)

The Huffington Post     First Posted: 07/29/2011 4:16 pm   Updated: 09/28/2011 5:12 am

The royal family was quite the colorful bunch on Friday night, hitting a pre-wedding party for Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall onboard Her Majesty's Yacht Britannia.

The Duchess of Cambridge repeated a green Diane Von Furstenberg dress that she first donned in L.A. last month, Princess Eugenie picked a bright red sheath and Princess Beatrice wore a one-shouldered, purple number with a butterfly belt.

Bride-to-be Zara mixed it up with a white and blue, watercolor-like printed frock and some serious stilettos.

Take a look and check out the latest royal wedding details here.

Sadly, all the women look frumpy except for Prince Edward's wife Sophie.

I SO wish that people would stop using the word 'repeat' for wearing your clothes. Who are the people who write like that? Don't they wear their clothes more than once?
09:10 PM on 07/31/2011
Best articles of clothing? The plaid pants and jacket worn by the fellow at the bottom of the boat steps. The rest of the men also looked terrific. Kate's dress was pretty.

Princess Ann looks frightening and Kate Middleton needs a haircut.

Agreed about Ann but Kate's hair should be the length Kate wants it to be ... her personal choices are just that, personal.

why does she need a haircut? Her hair is gorgeous!
03:24 PM on 08/01/2011
Her hair is a terrific asset but it's just too long. She's look better with about 4" cut off.

Harry's looking pretty good in the picture that's rated #1. The bride, the groom, who are they? (sarcasm). Seriously, Diana would be so proud of her baby boy.

I think Lady Diana would be very proud of her sons. They have turned out to be fine, handsome men. I think they will make fine fathers one day.

When arguing, attack the issue, not the person.

Who cares if she wears the same thing twice or more. Can the average person wear something different each day? Just because she is royal and has money is there a rule you can't wear something twice or more? Can people complain about something worth complaining about and if you don't like the Kate and all the Royal family don't read the articles.

This gal can't win! If she wears a new dress every time she walks from her house, she is vilified for being a spendthrift. If she wears a dress she's worn before, the press points it out as if she's committed an unpardonable sin. It's insanity! The Brits are in as much fiscal trouble as we are. The royal family will do well to follow Kate's example. Just as none of us wear a dress once and throw it away, British women also wear clothing again and again. I find Kate's common sense very refreshing!

I'm taking a break from reading all of the depressing articles on the deficit mess so I can comment on this article. To be perfectly honest I am tired of seeing her in the same clothes. It's time to mix it up and do something different. I'm sure a lot of people would disagree but I thought the green dress was a little blah for a party. I also thought Kate and Zara looked like they were going to 2 different functions. I get what Kate is doing by wearing the same outfits all of the time, but just jazz things up a bit already. It's not like people don't know she now has access to lots of money. I'm now ready to hear her speak, and get an idea of where her head is at. She somewhat mumbled when she and Will announced their engagement. I'd like to know if she was just nervous.

Hufpo should really stop calling her Kate Middleton, she no longer goes by either.

She may be the one authentic royal out there! Setting the tone for the new economy.

Catherine looked very nice. She always does, though. I wish I could have seen a few better pics of Beatrice, though. That gal has some whacky fashion sense. I like it!

And Zara was definitely sporting some killer stilettos. Ya gotta love that. Actually, there were a lot of nice shoes, from what I could tell.

I say this story IS newsworthy. First, it's about time a member of the royal family has the good sense to not-buy 365 outfits per year (times two for day/night).

Second: of all the nonsense printed about the royal family, this is a truth.

Third, this news is unusual. It reveals originality in a family steeped in tradition and at risk for drowning in the perceived-expectations of the public.

A young and new royal sets a good example to women concerned about collecting enough clothes to not-repeat.

Michelle Obama has set a good example in this way, too.

Women are getting smarter, every so gradually.

Why does it matter how many times she wore it? She likes it, she bought it, therefore she wants to wear it.

Boy, there's just no news like YESTERDAYS news is there?
