The 21 Most Miserable Models We Could Find (PHOTOS)

The Huffington Post     First Posted: 07/29/2011 7:14 am   Updated: 09/28/2011 5:12 am

Looking at the newly-released Proenza Schouler Fall ad campaign, we couldn't help but notice how downtrodden the model appeared, staring off into the distance with a pained expression.

Sure, we might cry if we were wearing a Proenza get-up as gorgeous as that, too. But ours would be tears of joy, not pure misery.

Which other models have been caught looking down in the dumps in front of the camera? Unsurprisingly, there are tons! From a young boy sobbing his way down a Menswear Fashion Week runway to the latest LOVE covers featuring tear-stained starlets, miserable models are everywhere. EVERYWHERE.

Who is the saddest of the lot? Take a look and let us know.

models always seem to look sad, broken, abused, neglected and other types of negative things. it often makes me wonder what it is about a skinny broken white woman that society loves so much??? just sayin. i really don't get it.

Rich beautiful AND happy? That's asking wayyyyy too much, don't you think? If I was rich and beautiful, I just don't see any way I could be happy too. Not enough room in the proverbial cup for all three.

Why are they unhappy? Is it because they trade sexual favors for assignments? Is it because they must entertain wealthy patrons of the industry? Is it because they are high paid objects of sexual predation? Oh, there must be many reasons.

It's basically a part of the sex trade so why should they be happy.

She's not miserable- She's Zooted on Heroin or some other heavy duty painkiller- She is lucky she's standing at all, being as wasted as she looks jeez- as for the others being the same way she obviously shares her stash!

The first shot where the model looks stoned and wearing a tablecloth is pretty awful. The blond Marc Jacobs looks like she just received a death sentence and the last dark haired Marc Jacobs looks like she got her head caught in a wind machine. What is with the dead crow on the head? Almost all of them are pretty bad. Yuk! Who ever wears this stuff?

Well isn't this a wonderful way of trying to say "The people who can afford our clothes may be wealthy...but see...they're not really happy. So don't be hatin'." Just in case any of us unemployed and newly homeless happen to pick up a copy of one of the magazines these photographs appear in. LOL

I'd be miserable too if I was forced to wear most of those dreadful fashions.

"Miserable" models is not surprise. Modeling is merely a form of acting; if everyone were smiling from ear to ear, the comments would be, "We should have various facial expressions." I'm sure if you were to speak with the model or director, the "sad look" would be explained.

It's just curious that every comment suggesting that the models should eat, always mentions sandwiches, cheeseburgers and not anything else that you could eat from a plate sitting properly at a table with a fork and a knife.

Has this anything to do with the way the common American eats?
11:13 AM on 07/30/2011
No.

The relevant common denominator fo the foods you listed is convenience.

Of course the roots of anorexia have nothing to do with eating habits OR convenience.
01:07 PM on 07/30/2011
Come on. Everyone knows that anorexia is common in the modeling world. Model admit it, designers admit it and celeb's do too.

When people say that they need a cheeseburger, fries etc......they mean that they need some FAT on their Body.

Most of these "models" looks horrible in person. Its all about perception.

"Its all about perception. "

And Photoshop.

Beautiful pics and expressions! Most of all the Madonna and Marc Jacobs' ones.
