Charles Barkley: Tiger Woods Needs To Surround Himself With Good People

Barkley Gives Advice To Tiger Woods

Charles Barkley, as one would expect, discussed several topics when he joined the Sports Insider show with Brian Berger on 750 AM The Game on Monday. At the end of his segment, Barkley was asked about his thoughts on Tiger Woods.

The Basketball Hall of Famer talked about how Woods is "like a brother" to him, but he is "very concerned" about the star golfer.

Barkley then went on to give Woods some advice:

"One of the keys to being successful is surrounding yourself with people who are always going to be honest. You've got to understand, most people who are around you [when you're famous] work for you or are just kiss asses," he said. "That's a major problem. You need to surround yourself with good people who are not going to kiss your ass and tell you what you want to hear. Who are always going to be honest."

Woods, who will end his 11-week break at the Bridgestone Invitational, announced on his website two weeks ago that he is parting ways with longtime caddie Steve Williams.

"I want to express my deepest gratitude to Stevie for all his help, but I think it's time for a change," Woods said.
