Get The Google Nexus S Free At Best Buy--But Only Today

If you were planning on buying a Google Nexus S smartphone but were waiting for prices to come down, today might be your lucky day.

Best Buy announced this morning that it was making all models of the Google Nexus S line of phones available for free with either two-year contract renewals or new two-year contracts to AT&T, Sprint, or T-Mobile, according to a company press release.

There are three versions of the Nexus S available from Best Buy: the T-Mobile Nexus S, the Sprint Nexus S 4G, and the AT&T version of the Google Nexus S, which is still only available at Best Buy. All of the phones run Android 2.3, Gingerbread ("the fastest version of Android available"), and feature multi-touch screens, four-inch displays, and NFC-chips for wireless payment through your cell phone.

The Nexus S could use some good publicity, after an advertisement for it was called the "worst commercial of the year" by Technabob (See it below).

Google unveiled this line of Nexus S phones in December 2010. The offer ends tonight at 1 A.M. EST.

My contract was renewed a few days ago and as it turned out I was eligible...so free phone. Most free phones I've had were plastic clams with buttons and antennae, so I'm just glad this one doesn't resemble a crustacean.

It's so funny final a good smartphone given away free with a two year service commitment and people complain. Iphone 4 has antenna Issues complaints. I was just wondering is there any technology free of flaws.

I no geek, but I love technology. I never heard so many cry babies about technology. If the Iphone was free I bet people would be fighting or even killing out others to get it. I forgot those who have the Iphone like drinking the Kool-Aid just like everyone else.

I had a Droid 2 for one day...it was garbage. Nothing was easy, and the battery died after only four or so hours. Traded it in immediately for an iPhone 4, even though I had to pay an extra $100 in total. The usability, stability, elegance, and versatility of the iPhone 4 is simply extraordinary. Nothing else comes close. And this is coming from a PC/Windows guy. No Kool-Aid here.

You may a PC/Windows guy and that is your preference. People like different things and the iPhone is not the only phone out there. Like I said before the iPhone is a user friendly phone, while Android phones are phones that for those that like to customize them.

You seem like the same guy that would tell any computer user that there is only one way to use a computer.

When I started selling them, 'cell' phones filled half your trunk and cost $4,500.00 to install and $150.00 a month. Plus $0.79 per minute.

They only worked when you were 'lucky' and cut out all the time.

Complaints, what complaints....

How everyone is looking for the Holy Grail in a smartphone, but they forget to realize there is no such thing as a perfect phone.

The complaints come from people always complaining about their phone that they purchased.

If you take all the networks this thing works on and smash them together, you still wouldn't get the coverage of Verizon.

The problem with android now is that its being offered in a wide variety of phones with completely different hardware. Its a good thing, don't get me wrong but the problem is that not all the phones are the same when carrying the platform. I mean the HTC sensation compared to the EVO 4G or the 3D version of it, etc... no hardware is the same. I mean I would probably want a hardware feature on the EVO but the EVO doesn't have what the HTC sense might have and so on and so forth. The only phone I would probably prefer would be the Nexus S. But like I said, it may lack some features that other phones may have, but yet again other android phones don't have what the Nexus may offer.

Being locked into a contract does not qualify as being free. Like so many, "and get a second one free, just pay S&H" commercials it is a REAL stretch of the truth.

If the phone is FREE and it requires me to re-up my service plan, I dont think I want it...must not be a very good model or they got new ones coming down the pipeline any day now.

Think I'll sell my cellular soul when something better comes along.

The Nexus S 4G is pretty nice for Sprint.  I am eligible for an upgrade and I think I am going to pass over the EVO 3D, and Samsungs next galaxy phone for the next google Nexus.  I am hoping something will be out by the holidays.

The reviews I have read it is actually suppose to be a good phone. There is a 4G version out and I suspect this is for the 3G version. I'm sure most people want the 4G model even though the reality is very few locations utilize 4G service so it offers no benefit to the vast majority of Americans.
