Kurt Billie, Arson Suspect, Arrested In North Hollywood

Early Tuesday morning, Los Angeles police arrested Kurt Billie, 34, a North Hollywood resident suspected of numerous counts of arson.

Billie was observed setting fire to a vehicle in the 7500 block of Troost Avenue and he was detained nearby at Valerio and Lankershim, according to the LAPD.

Billie is believed to have set up to twenty fires in that area since July 17, which includes a blitz of at least 14 fires over a two-day period, according to Studio City Patch.

The suspect is an ex-Marine, who at the age of twenty-four committed attacks of arson at several establishments near a U.S. military base in Okinawa, Japan, states the LA Times.

Kurt Billie is being held on $250,000 bail at the Van Nuys Jail.
