'Jersey Shore' Season 4 Premiere Draws Huge Ratings For MTV

HUGE RATINGS

The debut of season 4 of the reality show "Jersey Shore" on Thursday night was the biggest season premiere in MTV's history.

The episode, which brought the cast in Florence, Italy, attracted an eye-popping total of 8.8 million viewers. It drew 4% more viewers than the premiere of Season 3 in January. It was the third most watched program in MTV's history, behind two other airings of "Jersey Shore" -- the fourth episode of the third season when "Snooki" was released from jail and the following week.

As Tv Guide put it, "Those who are wishing that Jersey Shore would go away are going to have to wish harder."
