'The A List' Star, Nyasha Zimucha Talks Gay Marriage

'A List' Star Talks Gay Marriage

Logo’s gay housewives show, ‘The A List,’ has a new cast member this year -- straight female Nyasha Zimucha, who, coming from South Africa, says she sees a lot of similarities between apartheid and what’s going on with gay marriage in the United States.

“I grew up where the blacks and whites were separated and that was a big part of my childhood, so I just don’t understand why there’s prejudice ... I just don’t understand it,” Zimucha tells me. “I think suppressing a group because of their orientation is just bullsh-t. I am over it ... When it happened in New York and was legalized, I was like, 'Thank you! You’re late!'"

Zimucha is thrilled to be joining the reality show's cast, which unlike Bravo’s "Real Housewives" franchise, has yet to produce any breakout stars -- but all that’s about to change.

“I think black women and gay guys sort of have this magnetic energy and I think we are all sort of separated at birth -- it’s like a weird energy,” Zimucha tells me.

Despite admitting that her gay friends have definitely prohibited her from meeting straight guys, for Zimucha it’s all worth it!
