Power Exchange Carjacking: Car Stolen After Late Night Encounter At Sex Club

Car Stolen After Encounter At The City's Most Famous Sex Club

Early Friday morning, a couple made a connection at San Francisco's infamous Power Exchange. This is a daily occurrence at the city's most famous sex club; however, what happened next was definitely out of the ordinary.

After an Asian male in his late 30s met a Hispanic male in his 20s at the Tenderloin pleasure palace, the pair hopped in the former's green 2006 BMW 325i and left the club. They were parked near the intersection of 7th and Howard Streets around 4am when the younger man pulled out a small handgun and instructed the older man to "get out." The victim complied and the suspect drove away in the victim's car.

Both the suspect and the car have yet to be located.

Formerly located in the McCoppin area, The Power Exchange is the last of San Francisco's last mixed gay/straight sex clubs.

A few years ago, the club was forced to shutter its Otis Street location due to its landlord's financial issues. There were attempts to relocate to nearby location on Gough Street, but those plans were scuttled by neighbors resistant to the idea of sharing space with a sex club. Eventually the club reopened at 220 Jones Street in 2009.

Everything you need to know about what goes on inside the club can be found in this article in the Bold Italic.

SFPD spokesman Albie Esparza said that if anyone has information on the crime, "they should call (415) 575-4444 or send a text message to TIP411."
