Prince Albert & Princess Charlene Host Red Cross Ball (PHOTOS)

Just several days after New York Times fashion critic Cathy Horyn called her style a "flat pancake," newly-crowned Princess Charlene of Monaco stepped out looking a far cry from any breakfast food to host the 63rd Red Cross Ball in Monte Carlo along with her husband, Prince Albert.

Charlene picked a fuchsia, strapless gown by Akris for the occasion, paired with a custom-made Van Cleef & Arpels necklace made from 88 round diamonds, 10 pear-shaped diamonds and 359 sapphires meant to look like the ocean, according to PopSugar. 'Twas a gift from Albert, naturally.

The couple, Princess Caroline of Hanover, Princess Stephanie of Monaco, Charlene's brother Gareth Wittstock and around 800 guests had dinner and danced the night away on a light-up floor to the tunes of the one and only Joe Cocker.

Just stupid petty jealously between some countries, one across the channel.

Charlene is flawless and very womanly in her poise and how she carries herself. She knows how to dress and how to put herself together well for any occasion.

This is just another damage control photo op by the palace pr squad. The new princess has been reported to be miserable and the prince had her passport confiscated and her detained at the airport and is Stephanie still working in the circus and living in a trailer? Has BRAVO optioned them as a realty docu-series yet? I would watch.

the circus stopped years ago, maybe Stephanie decided that as much as she tried to make a difference in this world -as a singer, designer, circus producer- she would remain the same as she born, a boring princess. At least now she seems focus on her kids...I remembered her putting her daughter under an elephant doing its trick...it was scary.

She's tall and beautiful enough to carry it off but it's true that it gives her the appearance of not having much of a waist and she does. She hasn't looked that way in other photos.

For someone who is 5 years younger than me, Princess Stephanie looks 10-15 years older than me. Her hard living has definitely caught up with her. I thought the new princess' dress was lovely. I like the color and the jewelry .... although I am partial to pearls and emeralds.

This woman needs to lay off the plastic surgery and stay away from the botox. She looks like she's in constant pain, and I don't think that was the look she was going for. While she's at it, she should fire her make-up artist and hire a new stylist. That dress does nothing for her waist and shoulders.

I really think this woman is very beautiful and generally don't want to feel sorry for her but I do...when I saw her cry like that at her wedding and the way he looked so untouched...that was funky.
