The Disney Magic is a popular floating resort. The waters are crowded with sea-worthy vessels, so to make planning easier, we've done all the prep work for a cruise vacation. As part of a Huffington Post Travel series on cruise ships, here is a tip sheet offering all the key information one could ever need to know about the Disney Magic.
Destination
The Disney Magic departs from Port Canaveral, Fla. and travels to a variety of exotic destinations in the Caribbean, Mediterranean and Northern Europe. The Disney Magic sails continuously throughout the year. Trips range from short trips of a few days to extended vacations of more than a week.
Elegant Ship
The Disney Magic is a majestic ocean liner that was created especially for the Disney line by the legendary Fincantieri shipyards in Italy. Decorated in a fanciful art deco design, this sleek ship is both beautiful and entertaining for the family.
Special Features
The Disney Oceaneer Club is a children's activity center designed for children ages 3 to 10 to stretch their imagination through a variety of materials and supervised play. Three themed pools -- Goofy's Pool, Mickey's Pool and the Quiet Cove -- offer relaxing fun for everyone in the family. The Wide World of Sports area is full of opportunities to play. Unlike many cruise ships of its size, the Disney Magic does not have any casinos.
Accommodations
Accommodations on the Disney Magic provide substantially more space than other cruise lines, and include ample storage. The split baths with separate sinks allow several people to use them at the same time, another detail appreciated by families. The Disney difference is seen in the decor as well as the fun "towelgami" waiting in your room each day.
Cost
The cost of a voyage on the Disney Magic varies depending on the destination and amount of passengers. The best deals can be found in the spring and fall. Travelers can take advantage of special discounts by booking well in advance. An average fare for a family of four would be between $4,000 and $8,000.
Excursion
The seven-night Eastern Caribbean cruise is a week-long escape that includes stops in ports of call such as St. Maarten, St. Thomas/St. John and Disney's Castaway Cay. Castaway Cay is unique to Disney cruises. Voayagers can rent a private cabana and enjoy several activities on the private beaches. The service and attention to detail give this excursion a

Dining Experience
The Disney Magic serves a diverse menu that is available 24 hours a day. Themed restaurants, both gourmet and casual, offer something for everyone. An innovative rotational dining system allows travelers to eat at three distinctly different themed restaurants each night while your servers follow.
Maiden Voyage
The ship made its maiden voyage on July 30, 1998, embarking from Port Canaveral, Fla. after delays due to construction.
