Katy Perry and Rebecca Black Sing 'Friday' Together Onstage (VIDEO)

If you're a teenage girl with one viral musical hit under your belt and you're dreaming of hitting it big (for real) -- befriending a pop star is probably a good idea.

Lucky for Rebecca Black, a pop star friendship seems to be blossoming. The "Friday" singer who released her second single, "My Moment," last month, joined Katy Perry on stage in Los Angeles on Friday night to sing Black's famous ode to our favorite day of the week.

Perry gave Black a hug and told the crowd, "Thank you so much Rebecca. That was our moment. We love you Rebecca, give it up." As the 14-year-old walked off stage, Perry shouted, "Damn it, I love the Internet!"

Black's appearance prompts the question if perhaps Perry is taking her under her wing, or if this is just some good publicity. Black made a cameo along with handful of other celebrities including Darren Criss, Kevin McHale, Kenny G, Hanson, and 80s legends Debbie Gibson and Corey Feldman in Perry's video for "Last Friday Night."

Perry made history last week when she scored her fifth No.1 single off her platinum-selling album, "Teenage Dream" -- making her the only artist to do so since Michael Jackson released five No. 1 singles off his album "Bad."

And Black who is soaking up every minute of her new fame appeared at the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday night and took home the surfboard for Choice Web Star.

Well shes not a singer - shes just the current Paris Hilton of the music world - I doubt shes going to be able to play 13 year old Mary Beth at 30 - or when Disney releases a new pop princess - heck Rebecca Black could even be the new Katy Perry - she actually is a teenager - not a 27 year old woman pretending to be 12.

You're right, a computer can create a pop singer, see the Japanese band AKB48. What makes pop singers popular is the fact that teens relate to them, because they're average/mediocre singers. In their mind they think if Katy can succeed not being the greatest singer in the world I can make it happen too!

Do you know the difference between tweens and teens? Vogue was oversualizing a 10 year old girl, that's a teen. Tweens are people in their 20's. And entertainment industry was built on sex. Movies, music, painting...

MJ was a singer and a dancer and a good, creative one - Katy Perry is a reality tv star dating Brand - that has a few more months left until Disney releases a new actual teenager that can sing soda pop - in fact it might even be Rebecca Black

She is not a singer as any live clip will prove - and her showmance with Brand is a big part of her fame as well as the jigglers - which does put her in the reality tv domain.

My point is once Disney releases an actual teenager who can sing soda pop - Katy loses 90 % of her base. Heck even Rebecca Black could be the new Katy Perry - maybe thats why Katy is trying to sing with a teenager - soda pop.
