Man Arrested For Stalking Bloomberg's Daughter

MANHATTAN - A Queens pizza maker was nabbed for directing a harassing series of emails and text messages at Mayor Michael Bloomberg's daughter, according to a published report.

Salvatore Di Bartolo, 48, was arrested on June 7 and charged with harassment for sending the notes, police sources confirmed to DNAinfo. But they could not confirm that Georgina Bloomberg was the target of the missives.

According to the Daily News, Di Bartolo, of Ridgewood, allegedly sent seven messages between May 28 and June 2 expressing his fondness for the 28-year-old equestrian.

The notes came after he posted on the mayor's Facebook page: "Happy passover mike. How is Giorgina doing?" according to the News.

The suspect was scooped up in an early morning raid after repeatedly texting a police sergeant that he wanted to get in touch with the mayor to talk to his daughter about getting married, the report said.

He allegedly ignored repeated warnings not to try to contact her, even through a third party.

According to the report, Bloomberg said that she had never met Di Bartolo.

Di Bartolo's attorney did not immediately return a call for comment. He is being held on $25,000 bail at Rikers Island.The mayor's office declined comment.
