Georgia May Jagger Plays Margaret Thatcher For Harper's Bazaar (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: Margaret Thatcher Has Never Looked This Good

One doesn't often associate Margaret Thatcher with the phrase "sex appeal."

But Harper's Bazaar is paying homage to the former prime minister's womanly style in a fun, flirty Thatcher-themed photo shoot in which Georgia May Jagger (daughter of Mick) plays the politico in a flamboyantly large blonde wig.

The playful photos are captioned with some of Thatcher's best bon mots, including the famous line, "In politics if you want anything said, ask a man. If you want anything done, ask a woman."

Even more insightful is the intimate article penned by Suzy Menkes that accompanies the photos. As a British fashion journalist in the Eighties, Menkes had the chance to speak with the prime minister in person and was privy to Thatcher's off-the-cuff thoughts on British style back in the punk-filled 1980s:

I can still hear her firm voice, artfully readjusted from shrill to a breathy lower register, as she asked me some intense questions about British fashion, which came down to "Does anyone wear those clothes?"

Many young Brits were wearing the latest avant garde trends, but Thatcher stuck to her guns, sartorial and otherwise. In June Christie's auctioned off the head of state's famous Asprey handbag, which she carried everywhere and made quite prominent in negotiations with the likes of Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev.

The bag is absent in Terry Richardson's photos for Bazaar, but Georgia rocks the big blonde 'do. Perhaps Meryl Streep should take note?
