Greek Yogurt Ads: Which Do You Find The Weirdest? (VIDEOS)

First Posted: 08/ 9/2011 1:04 pm   Updated: 10/ 9/2011 6:12 am

HuffPost Food was recently alerted to a new Oikos Greek yogurt TV spot, in which John Stamos (aka Uncle Jesse from Full House) attempts to be sort of seductive while hawking the yogurt. We just can't help thinking of him as doing anything else but changing little Michelle's diapers on the 1990s sitcom.

The Oikos ad is one of several weird Greek yogurt ads that we've seen this past year. See the clips below for some of the strangest.

That was a terrible commercial. It was only made worthwhile for the sake of seeing John Stamos' good looks. But then I guess that's the point of it.

Gorgeous.... I think it is a great commercial and he is just plain SEXY!!!

So, it's a commercial... what is so wierd about it? Stamos is Greek, so that is probably why he is in commercial. Why the need to write an article about it?

It's hard to beat the commercials where the baby trades stocks, and gives advice to his friends. Some of them are better than the shows they interrupt.

The Yaiyai commercials are the best. I have a friend who's Mom's side is greek so he and his sister had a Yaiyai. I love the one where she calls the girl a prostitute just cause she's wearing a slightly (and i mean slightly) low cut red dress. (Prrrrrrrost-i-tute!)

no offense, but don't they have better things to report about than yogurt ads?

John is Greek...what is "weird" about him hawking Greek yogurt? He's a beautiful man and, in my opinion, the perfect celeb for the gig.

Yes and it is also a pay check.......money does make the world go 'round after all.......

It sure would be nice to use a yia yia that actually is Greek. And if she is Greek she looks more like she came from Norway.

This ad is great & I would eat the yogurt just b/c the ever so hot uncle jesse is selling it!

I found his character playful, not vulgar. To me, that is sexy! This ad is cute and makes the product likeable to a broad range of viewers. That ad company did its job well!

I also wondered why the narrator mispronounced the name which should be EEEEEkos.

I love John - he totally looks great! And don't think it is strange at all. After all he is Greek.

John Stamos is in an ad for Greek yogurt because he is Greek. They're just playing off his ethnicity. It would be like Sean Connery in an ad for haggis.
