Joe Bastianich On Jimmy Fallon: 'I Was Born To Manipulate Grapes' (VIDEO)

Bastianich: 'I Was Born To Manipulate Grapes'

Restaurateur, vintner and MasterChef judge Joe Bastianich appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night to promote his show and winery. He explained how he got into winemaking and his role in the ecology of the MasterChef judges. He's the Simon Cowell to Gordon Ramsay's Paula Abdul, apparently, explaining that MasterChef is the "the underbelly of the Gordon Ramsay beast."

Bastianich, who co-owns several restaurants, including Babbo, with Mario Batali, also recounts a debauched karaoke night with Fallon. The funniest moment in the clip, though, comes when Bastianich presents the Late Night host with a wine that he describes as "Jimmy in a bottle." Bastianich plays his explanation of the moniker straight while Fallon makes fun of the idea of bottling his essence.

Here's the clip.
