Morgan Freeman In 'Now You See Me': In Talks For Magician Crime Film

Morgan Freeman: Hated Magician?

Morgan Freeman's TV series sees him investigating the unexplained secrets of the cosmos; for his next film, he may be exposing the fraudulent illusions of our terrestrial bounds.

The host of the investigative series "Through The Wormhole" on the cable network Science, is according to Variety in talks to join the cast of "Now You See Me," the story of a battle between the FBI and a band of expert magicians who rob banks during their performances. The Oscar-winner would play Thaddeus, an ex-magician who outs the secrets of illusionists -- and is thus hated by the magic community.

Presumably, he's nothing like Will Arnett's GOB character in "Arrested Development."

The film already stars Mark Ruffalo as the featured FBI agent fighting against the unknown, while Amanda Seyfried will turn tricks for the Four Horsemen, the name of evil magic group. Jesse Eisenberg has also signed on to star.

Freeman is currently involved in the production of "The Dark Knight Rises."
