Give a Sh*t is an organization that's trying to raise awareness about important issues via social media. The angle? They want every person participating to update their status with a message about their issue of choice every time they take a number two.

That's right, every time they poop.

It might sound absurd, but the organization already has 927 fans on Facebook, and 307 followers on Twitter, and with celebrity spokespeople like Twilight's Nikki Reed, they're only going to grow in the coming days. People can choose to advocate issues like the London riots, gun violence, animal cruelty and poverty -- so the causes being represented are very serious and near to people's hearts -- they're just choosing an unorthodox way to remind us to think about these issues every day.

It might be unconventional, but hey, whatever works, right? Because, to paraphrase the Dalai Lama: It's important that we all give a sh*t.
