Corey Feldman: Pedophilia Is Hollywood's Biggest Problem (VIDEO)

Former child-star Corey Feldman is making some shocking claims in a new interview with ABC's Nightline.

The 40-year-old actor, who starred in hit films in the 1980s like "The Goonies" and "Stand By Me," told Nightline that the biggest threat to children in show business is something that just isn't talked about -- pedophilia.

"I can tell you that the number one problem in Hollywood was, and is, and always will be pedophilia. That's the biggest problem for children in this industry... it's all done under the radar. It's the big secret," he said.

Feldman said he was surrounded by pedophiles when he was 14-years-old and didn't realize until he was older just what these "vultures" were and what they wanted. Feldman says it was these people who abused both him and close friend and troubled teen actor Corey Haim, who died last year at the age of 38.

"There is one person to blame in the death of Corey Haim, and that person happens to be a Hollywood mogul -- and that person needs to be exposed but unfortunately I can't be the one to do it," he said.

Both Feldman and Haim have talked about their abuse before, even confronting one another about it on their 2008 reality series "Two Coreys," revealing that they were both being molested by different people at the same time.

Feldman told Nightline, "There are so many people in this industry who have gotten away with it for so long that they feel they're above the law. And that's got to change, that's got to stop."

There still seems to be a rift between Feldman and Haim's family. When Haim died in 2010, Feldman was not invited to the funeral and when Nightline reached out to Haim's mother for comment, she told them she wasn't going to respond to anything Feldman had to say, and wishes he would only talk about himself.

What about telling someone who tells someone who tells someone ...
who tells a P.I. who gathers evidence and takes it to the police?

Hooray for Hollywood Pedophiles?

The 1937 Johnny Mercer golden oldie ”Hooray for Hollywood” has long been a staple on Oscar night when movie celebs of today and yesteryear wax misty-eyed at the memorable melody, totally oblivious that Mercer’s song was composed as a satire on stardom and the young hopefuls who pursue that elusive dream.

The lyrics have since been altered to eliminate lines denigrating Tinseltown such as those describing it as a place where ”any shop girl can be a top girl/If she pleases Mister Businessman” but the amoral nature of the place hasn’t changed.

The “casting couch” may have been replaced by a mattress along the lines of a Sealy Posturepedic as Gwyneth Paltrow has noted but, if anything, Hollywood is even sleazier now than it was 74 years ago. In addition to becoming a gay-loving, leftist-liberal stronghold, it’s also devolved into a haven for rapacious pedophiles according to former child star, Corey Feldman.

Now 40 and long past his roles in “Goonies,” “Stand By Me,” and “The Lost Boys,” Feldman loosed a blockbuster charge against the “vultures” in the entertainment industry during a “Nightline” interview: ”I can tell you that the number one problem in Hollywood was, and is, and always will be pedophilia. That’s the biggest problem for children in this industry. . . it’s all done under the radar. It’s the big secret.”

If it ever were a secret,. . .

The interviewer is a sicko to have compared pedophilia with the 'casting couch'. I applaud Feldman for continuing to get his message out past this scared oaf.

Does this seem surprising? Not at all. As long as people are willing to sell their children to the highest bidders then of course this type of activity will go on. Parents if you want your child in Hollywood, have fun with that, but protect them at all costs. There is no reason to turn a blind eye to what is wrong. There is no amount of money that can assuage the wound left behind. The trust cannot be rebuilt. Our kids are precious gifts entrusted to us and it is our job to provide for them and protect them. If you won't provide for your child because they are a star than at least protect them from the evil in the world.

You're right, but money is the root of all evil and is all some care about. There's not much money can't buy today.

Bravo to Corey for exposing one part of the sickness in Hollyweird. Child molestation is as much about manipulation, abuse of power and authority as it is about sex. Most child molesters were victimized themselves so they use their authority to manipulate and hurt others. Actors are naturally sensitive and are prone to being manipulated. Attractive young people are especially targets -- young girls learn to hide intelligence to avoid jealousy.

To name names causes retaliation which can be more harmful than the abuse. There is no proof and the abuser has a lot of power, so the victim is often made to doubt their experience, made to feel crazy. Because children often feel they caused it, THEY doubt the veracity of what happened.

The good news is that child abuse and exploitation needs to be exposed more in the media and in our neighborhoods too. We need to know what it looks like. Children are our marginalized population right now and we need to make sure they are safe and well-educated. Children can be marginalized by their own parents, as with stage parents, or by the overly self-involved parents that are so rampant today.

The second benefit to this expose is thtat we are all consumers of Hollywood and so we need the dark side of that culture to be exposed and rooted out. The hyper-sexualization in Hollywood, whether with molesting or exploiting young, attractive children or young adults, is affecting our society as a whole.

Yeah the notion that you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink, doesn't hold true for many humans. Often money takes presidence over what's right for kids. The sexier they present kids, the more it sells. We judge sex offenders, but how many less would there be if this suggestive child sexuality frenzy didn't exist?

I wonder why he cannot name names especially thoes who mollested him ,to save others from the same fate as his friend ?Pride hurts many
04:09 AM on 08/16/2011
Not only was his friend molested but so was Feldman. He's talking about some of the more powerfully corrupt people in the world when he speaks about Hollywood corruption. Who knows? Perhaps he wants his wife and child to remain alive?

Good for you, Corey. It takes a lot of courage to speak the unspeakable in the artificial environment of Hollywood. I wish you were able to name names, but it is certainly understandable why you haven't. I applaud you. Perhaps more will speak out.
02:53 AM on 08/15/2011
I wish more people would understand that he's not in a position to name names. It was a long time ago and any physical evidence that may have existed is long gone. At this point giving a name would be considered slander. It is difficult to accuse a powerful person of anything, even with evidence. That changes if someone more powerful wants them to be accused, but presumably the person he's talking about is still in favor.

I couldn't agree more. But it's the silence of the victims that allows the abuse to continue. Too often, speaking up only prolongs the abuse.

I'm glad these things are coming out ,the Feldman's and Quaid are starting to come out about these sick weirdos, that have been behind all the speculations for years Hollywood has been speculated to this ,the directors couch and everything, their little fortress of solitude will eventually come down.

Not to belittle his ordeal, but - complete tangent - Corey appears to be a walking fountain of youth.

THe priest abuse occurred by mainly homosexual priests. Most of the victims were above the age of puberty. The priest abuse scandal was a homosexual problem. Something no one seems to want to acknowledge.

What is Feldman taking about? Before he died Haim said he had been molested at age 14 by someone who hired to provide his security. Someone who stayed nights with him. That does not sound like some high up hollywood mogul.
