Jason Garrett Bans Rookie Hazing: Cowboys Coach Says 'Young Guys Are Part Of Our Football Team' (PHOTOS/VIDEOS)

Cowboys Coach Bans Rookie Hazing

Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett doesn't want to see any drama this season when it comes to rookie hazing. A year after dealing with a hazing fiasco that involved wide receiver Dez Bryant, in which he refused to carry shoulder pads when veteran receiver Roy Williams told him to, Garrett banned rookie hazing before his first full season as head coach.

"It's just something I believe in and we believe in as a staff," Garrett said on Sunday, via Tim MacMahon of ESPNDallas. "The young guys are part of our football team. They certainly need to get themselves acclimated in a lot of different ways, and our veteran players are in charge of welcoming them to the NFL in a real positive way."

Jacksonville Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio also did away with rookie hazing earlier this month.

Last year, Bryant chose not to participate in rookie hazing because he felt that he "was drafted to play football, not carry another player's pads."

Williams, who joined the Chicago Bears in the shortened offseason, naturally responded by saying "everybody has to go through it."

Rookie hazing has evolved over the years, from wacky haircuts to serenading your teammates. Plenty of NFL rookies have gone through it. So without further ado, he are some examples of NFL rookie hazing from the past.
