Rich Dauer, Rockies Third Base Coach, Hit In Face With Ball During ESPN Broadcast (VIDEO)

Third Base Coach Breaks Nose On Live TV

Upon first viewing, this appears to be a normal clip of ESPN baseball analyst Bobby Valentine breaking down a Sunday night baseball game. But if you watch it again and pay attention to what's going on in the background - OUCH!

During a double play drill prior to Colorado's game against St. Louis on Sunday night, Rockies third base coach Rich Dauer accidentally took a hard thrown ball right to the face. According to The Denver Post, Dauer suffered a broken nose as a result of the play.

The nature of the injury was particularly disturbing as just last week Rockies rookie Juan Nicasio suffered a broken neck during a game after being hit with a line drive.
