Bill Nighy And Gemma Arterton Present Recently Discovered Species In WWF Short, 'Astonish Me' (VIDEO)

WATCH: Bill Nighy And Former Bond Girl Help Unveil Recently Discovered Species

Add Bill Nighy to the list of all time greatest narrators.

The video short "Astonish Me," filmed for the World Wildlife Fund, displays some of the world's most recently discovered species with the help of Nighy and former Bond girl, Gemma Arterton. The result is a visually stunning and compelling look at some of the world's most incredible animals.

HuffPost UK spoke to Stephen Poliakoff, the film's writer, about the creative vision behind the project. Poliakoff said, "For us in the western world, children have an innate connection with nature, and it seems to get knocked out of us as we get older, and we are the poorer for it."

Some of the finds presented in the video are utterly astonishing, and include the world's longest insect as well as one colossal squid. We dare you not to be amazed.

In our opinion, this puts Nighy right up next to Michael Cain and Morgan Freeman. When it comes to his voice, we do believe we are in love, actually.

There have been many triumphs and disappointments when it comes to discovering species. In April, Conservation International celebrated two decades of its Rapid Assessment Program, which has led to the discovery of over 1,300 new species, including the "Yoda bat," "Dinospider," "Walking shark," and "Pinocchio frog." View some of their discoveries here.

Recently though, a study found that despite growth in protected habitats over the last few decades, species diversity around the world is plummeting.
