'Enough Already' Project Mutes Celebrities On TV (VIDEO)

Device Mutes Annoying Celebs On Your TV

Kim Kardashian's bridezilla moments and Snooki's weight-loss endeavors can now be a thing of the past. And it's all thanks to Matthew Richardson's invention to ban overexposed celebrities from your TV, reports MSNBC.

Appropriately dubbed the "Enough Already" Project, this do-it-yourself device gives a whole new meaning to selective hearing--by manipulating your TV's mute function.

Here's how it works:

A video experimenter shield is placed on top of an Arduino board to monitor the TV's closed captioning, according to Geek.com. It then scans key names that you've chosen. An infrared beam is used to signal a mute command to instruct your TV to go silent for 30 seconds, MAKE reports. As long as that selected name isn't repeated, the sound will return to normal volume after 30 seconds.

Richardson's "Enough Already" could also be used to block commercials and other irritations on mainstream television. The possibilities are truly endless with this invention, but only if you can figure out how to install it at home. Check out Richardson's video (above) to get started.

Geek.com recalls an invention, the Tinted Sheen, which debuted earlier this year and purportedly stops all things Charlie Sheen from your web browser.
