Zooey Deschanel At 'Our Idiot Brother' Premiere: Love It Or Leave It? (PHOTOS, POLL)

We love Zooey Deschanel for not playing by the rules. The actress hits the runway in quirky Fifties-era dresses, she adores wearing heavy tights in the summer and she created a site called HelloGiggles.com, for gosh sakes.

Similarly, we love that Zooey took a fashion risk at last night's "Our Idiot Brother" premiere. The actress walked the red carpet for her new film wearing a black and white dress by Moschino with a dramatic (detachable!) ruffle collar and peplum. She paired the unexpected look with a messy up-do and chic black pumps.

But really, the most shocking part of the outfit was her lack of black tights. After all, this is the girl who confessed, "I will wear tights even if it's 100 degrees outside. Tights are my safety blanket."
