Conde Nast Traveler will splash Drew Barrymore on its September cover to celebrate her recent volunteer work in Kenya.

The 36-year-old actress and World Food Programme ambassador is just one of the humanitarians highlighted in the magazine’s “Visionaries” issue next month. With the help of the WFP’s $1 million donation, the "Charlie's Angel" star established the Barrymore Education Project, an initiative that’s brought much-needed boreholes, food and a new school to two impoverished rural communities in Kenya.

Barrymore said that she was particularly motivated to contribute to education in Kenya when she learned that kids there trekked miles to classrooms that were in desperate need of repairs.

“If it wasn’t for the World Food Programme, I don’t know what my life would be like now,” Barrymore told the magazine. “It’s shown me that I can actually get involved and not be lazy and not be scared. But just jump in and try.”
