Presidential Vacations: The Most Embarrassing Photos Of Our Nation's Leaders On Vacation (PHOTOS)

It's that time of year again.

President Obama heads to Martha's Vineyard on Thursday for his annual summer vacation with his family. As he does so, he faces criticism for leaving behind a struggling economy and jobs market. (Michelle's trip last summer to Spain also sparked a similar debate.)

Last August, the First Family spent a soggy vacation at Blue Heron Farm. The Obamas also spent time in Martha's Vineyard in August 2009.

Presidential vacations are a time-honored tradition, among the press pool and first families alike. And what would democracy be without a little presidential jabbing? No one always looks good, it's just a physical impossibility no matter if you're Angelina Jolie or Joe Schmo. And the argument holds true for our past and present presidents.

To commemorate this grand American event, we've compiled a look at some of the most embarrassing photos of our nation's leaders on vacation. Enjoy.

George H.W. Bush walks the wintery streets of downtown Kennebunkport while on vacation in 1989. We know it's cold in Maine in the winter, but this hat has got to go.
