'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' New Stills Released: Rooney Mara Upclose (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: New 'Dragon Tattoo' Pics Get Up Close

It's been a secretive process, the slow emergence of "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" from the dark of director David Fincher's genius studio. Set for a December release, the American remake of the film adaptation of Stieg Larsson's hit book, stills and details are beginning to tease the intensity of what should no doubt be one of the biggest hits of the year.

Now, new still images have been revealed, featuring both of the film's stars, Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig, both individually and coming together. Featured in last week's issue of Entertainment Weekly, Mara discussed the film's intense rape scene.

"It was incredibly intense. We did it all in a week -- the week of Valentine's Day, oddly enough," she said. "We were working 16 hours a day, and it was really, really challenging, not just emotionally but physically. But it's such an important scene. We wanted to do everything we could to get that right."
